Peanut sauce is a staple for many Asian cuisines. Though very tasty, it contains many calories and fats.
Vegan and gluten-free, this asian dip is a healthy substitute! For those who want to enjoy peanut sauce without the added guilt, or for those who are allergic to peanuts and always wondered what peanut sauce tasted like, this recipe is for you.
1/2 cup of almond butter (or peanut butter)
1 tbsp of brown rice vinegar
1 tbsp of tamari sauce
1/4 - 1/2 tsp of hot sauce
1 tsp of grated ginger
2 tbsp of maple syrup or raw honey
1/4 cup of water (or less)
Note: This recipe is versatile and can be used as a thicker dip for raw veggies and spring rolls, or thinner as a dressing to drizzle over salads and noodles.
Place all ingredients in a medium size mixing bowl (leave water for last).
Whisk all ingredients until nicely blended.
Add water as needed to thin out as desired.
